fossil fuels have been extracted by man and will turn our garden earth into a fossil. I have long believed that the industrial revolution has catapulted humans toward destruction. Greed, slavery, war and pollution have feasted upon the black gold and the black diamond. This image brilliantly conveys the imbalance between tiny life in its precious natural form and its vunerability to the massive beast of industry. What are we borrowing from our children??

  • shanghaiwu replied

    stephen mclaren

sorry i missed these powerful words..til now!

i take what you responded to stephen as the crux of the matter, “Balance.” surely we can find it at some point with resorting to the extremes of either end of the spectrum. i think you have struck a chord here. true, industry runs amok and is corrupt, yet a return to pre-industrial days simply isn’t realistic either. great image by the way. cheers!

  • shanghaiwu replied

    jk york

thankyou for your words/these images were actually taken on Lamma ISLAND/HONGKONG. Hate to pick on China but YES industry right next to the beach and swimmers
