From her corpse the maguey was first born, and from the nectar of the cactus, the ancient Mesoamerican people fermented Pulque, the ancestor of modern day distilled tequila. She is a Goddess of the night’s sky, and a symbol of festivities and fertility.
Yoik is an East Coast artist who specialized in the creation of jewelry, home decor, spiritual tools, and wearable art made from materials found in the natural world. She has had work featured in local art galleries and has distributed her unique creations world-wide. Along with practicing art in many forms she is also an avid hiker and independently studies herbal medicine and Mesoamerican culture and theology.
