This is a very spiritual piece – I cant believe you didn’t upload this one back in may. Its awesome

  • shallay replied

I know, I know, I know!... I do that so often though – you have all these photos of one subject to make choices from – and then you move on before it’s really time, often for variety’s sake.
This one did require some work though, and round that time there was a spot on the lens that found it’s way into everything!
Something I’ve noticed about sunsets is that the exposure darkens the sky – so in the back of my mind this felt like cheating to present a shot – presumably ‘natural’ – which is different straight from the camera than in the real scene. The colours here are intensified.
But I’m not lying about the peacefulness & beauty – and just listen to that water lapping and slapping to the edge.. very spiritual.

  • Alan Coote

    Alan Coote

Stunning – I love the halo glow with the vignette effect that results.

  • shallay replied

Hi Alan, just admiring your portfolio – I get the impression you have a strong technical slant. I’m much less technical – definitely wasn’t aiming for a vignette. Think what makes this special for me is the way the waves are rhythmically spacing out the light – calming effect, as was being there. Welcome to the Bubble!

Beaitiful and interesting image. The sun seems to bend the horizon such that it takes on a very mind Y-shape – with the water reflection being the stem of the Y. Simple but absolutely lovelY.
