Love how you can nail a look – though I’m not really familiar with the American night look – maybe nothing like Arabian night?:) Hard to be a design dilettante – just normally paddle around & think, ‘Oh that reminds me of something!’ (with no idea what) – cheers Umbra!
Thankyou Joanne – now I’ve inspired you to go off in a completely new direction with your own water work!!! – Not. Yes, I think drama is a good way to describe this, too.
Thankyou Glenn – this photo was taken back in April when these clouds seemed to be around. We had the really hot March and then it cooled in April.. I don’t know, seemed to be a seasonal phenomenon. Certainly lent itself to some nice pics :)
To me they all (clouds) look like people that are praising God, who is the center light. Might sound crazy but I love cloud shapes and I’m always finding something or several somethings!
Thankyou torstar, the white lit bits are quite powerful, I think.
Stzar
Love this treatment ~ the horizon is infinity !! beautiful light, texture and contrast Fantastic and beautiful ~ i agree with you, i find this incredibly powerful and ascending
Thanks Kaz, you must be one of the few to check my journal entry! The book did get finished – I bought 10! (only 50 published) And now…...... big gap waiting for something next. Meantime… doing painting, planning drawings, maintaining discipline to always have a couple of projects on the go at once and work at them consistently – (too easy to get blocked otherwise). Figure as long as I’m working, I will always have results – so yeah, just oiling the machine:))
Thankyou tereza – did as you said! That would be ‘All Seascapes’ group? (Had already fulfilled my quota which is why I didn’t submit – but – solved that now) Glad you like:)
IrishPics
Stunning shot Shallay,..! Looks like a beautiful cloud so well lighted and awesome..<
Is that, jump in right now? because if you were calm and relaxed you wouldn’t want to jump at all, right? It actually would have been a long way to jump, because I think I took this shot either off a jetty or on a high embankment. Personally, I’d go with the relaxing rather than jumping:)) Thanku Vonnie!
Hi reflector, I’m aware I owe you a few good comments on work you’ve recently uploaded, and I’m trying to budget my time wisely to get more done! – so…. am getting round to it, cross my heart & hope to – well, not die exactly… - Thankyou, this would have to be the best pic I have to date.
I like this very much, but that one looking across that field, or those iconic poles on the beach were great images too – and others ! I put up 2 images today, and all I’m doing tonight is commenting.
I don’t know the stats for all that Shallay, but I do know I was behind with “stuff”. I just re-worded my profile, since I realized that photography is a huge part of my creative endeavours nowadays.
Photography is very addictive – and a lot easier than spending hours working something up in Photoshop. Inevitable, I guess, to end up with that ratio of photos to other stuff. I liked your blurb, anyway:) Have yet to check out the complete reflector catacombs – but, am onto it;)
It is easier, but making an edit that takes something beyond the photograph to another place is very rewarding. And graphics start from a blank screen, the same as a blank Canvass in painting. I’ve had some really great feelings from all those kinds of creative pursuits.
Thankyou lenzart, I agree the blue is what makes it – when I look back on the original shot, the clouds are impressive but it’s the dark colour in this manipulated version which supplies the mood.
Metallic look? Now that really is an original comment! Guess the water does look a bit like metal – thanks a heap Michael, I’m cheering you on for your 1,000 comment marathon and hoping you’re fit and stay cool for the finish line;)))
Thankyou, I like your description! No filter, just taken with a point and shoot, and the colour added in gimp. I had a fluoro version I added first, then finally came to my senses and posted this one.
lisa1970
really like the dark blue tones, works well for me
shallay replied
Yes, it would have been a good photo anyway, but lent itself to some dramatic effects!!! thanks lisa
