There's a Vole in my Bucket! by

This vole (a short tailed field vole to be particularily particular) was in an upturned bucket allowing me a few pictures before setting him loose. Once out, he disappeared into the rough grass and was impossible to spot in less than a second. I was going to call this picture – there’s a vole in my bucket, but that would clearly have been ridiculous, so I didn’t. I am very fond of voles.

Ok, Ok, I’ve changed the name – that song’s stuck in my head too!

What a cute little guy! I have never seen a vole, such wonderful coloured fur they have. Must say I do love your alternate title – I now have the song running round in my head (… dear Liza, dear Liza ….)!

    Beautifully treated pic!

  • Crikey Tifatany – you’ve got me singing that now!..

Much prefer your first title John…it appeals to my own ridiculous sense of humour! ;-) As for the image it’s excellent, very original angle and the lighting is superb, the detail of fur and eyes is wonderful.

  • Thank you indeed David. I ‘d like to take credit for the lighting but it’s just that old friend of macro, a cloudy sky (very close to changing the title now…!)

A vole in your bucket is about the only reasonable way to photograph one…
I have no pride at all. I would have used that title, dear Liza, dear Lisa…
or “There’s a Vole in my Portrait, dear…” and a nice one at that…

  • lol – thanks RJ. I can see I’ll have to change the name. It’s on my todo list now!

So beautiful art from your heart my friend, thank you to inspire me and friends:)
I pleasure to present a good quote to you; It is common sense to take a method and try it; if it fails, admit it frankly and try another. But above all, try something.- Franklin D. Roosevelt
