The Butterfly Collector is Artist and Illustrator Shae Reid!
She loves to create new paintings, make collages in her art journals, take photos and have afternoon tea every day english style with a really big tea cup and cookies! And she loves to post regularly about her art making here…

Shae is also a Mum of two wonderful boys and married to one gorgeous husband who loves to cook!
She lives in a small villiage by the sea, near the city of Melbourne and some of the world’s most fabulous beaches in Australia.

She is inspired by new and vintage books, art, fashion, folklore, the cinema, music, nature, children’s books, interior magazines ,paint charts, found things, words that pass her by or pop into her head and of course colour galore!

She is currently working on writing and illustrating her first children’s book.
She has also been trained along the way in Fashion Illustration, Retail Management and Visual Merchandising.

She likes to think of each of her paintings like a page ripped from a book … a little part of a bigger story that she can let the viewer’s imagination make up on their own!
