crepuscular

it always happens
in that brief moment
between day and night
when the horizon explodes
like different worlds colliding
into each other while coloring
our sky with their violet hues of blood
crepuscular
a noise grows inside of me
a stirring, perhaps
and then it begins
the nostalgia
a resonating inside my
cornea
memories that spin
like a top but never falter

it always happens
in the brief moment
that my body calls for you
more than my mind can endure

I am a dreamer, artist, and mother. I dance in the rain, spend too much time reading books, and live for my family. I am a gypsy, poet, musician, and artist. But most of all, I am a butterfly fairy. Come dream with me.

Crepuscular is such an evocative word! This poem evokes the ache, the longing of want and need, in a twilight song xxx

  • isn’t it a darling of a word? it inspired the whole poem… so glad you felt it darling dear. <3

Love this very much. You had me in the cosmos, especially when you say when the horizon explodes and though it was a big delightful surprise, I guess I was quite right after all, but I was in a different kind of cosmos. This is awesome.

  • i like to weave little twists, paradoxes, etc.. it’s so great to catch a reader by surprise.. thank you for sharing your thoughts and reaction, it means a lot to me.

Very deep with a personal touch. Don’t know if it is simply a spur of inspiration or something going on now, but you know life is full of mystery and things happen for a reason ~

  • thank you dear one… i have been going through a hard time in life, and for some months i was emotionally (and poetically) constipated, but now i am starting to let my feelings eek out with little scribblings.. some things are more true than others, some is just inspiration and dreams, but all are pieces of me. <3 and thank you for the support, you’re a beautiful friend.

You too. I guess I have been going through the same. As you may remember I was really needy a few years back when I was suffering – I didn’t realize or think about back then that you were dealing with difficulties yourself; sorry if I was asking for too much. Although I was a pain then, having gone past that phase and looking back I’m understanding people better and appreciate more what I have. While I may have been behaving immaturely upon the misfortunes that struck me, I do feel wiser now then before I went through those experiences – doesn’t mean I’ll never make mistakes or will never feel sad again; or will forgive everything; my feelings undoubtedly have been scarred, and I still have duties I have to fulfill, but lets just say I’m holding on to the valuable things just as much as cancer diagnosed people are living as long as they can even.
