its weight is almost unbearable.
From my perch, sheltered amongst the
evergreen gods overlooking the cliffs,
I hear the mountain breathe.
Within this shadowy blackness
I can feel the presence of
creatures unknown, their penetrating
stare, eyes that do not blink.
They wonder why I am here,
alone.
Lady moon is melancholy as she casts
her memories onto the valley below;
she pulls the ocean to and fro,
a lullaby for my heart as
I search for you in the skies.
While I gaze up, the silver river of the
milky way captivates me as
it adorns the horizon.
My soul is consumed with the thought
that those very stars
could reach down and whisk me away
to where you wait,
wherever it is you are.
harmeet
Too good…
.Someone somewhere waiting for someone to come someday…
Harmeet
ShadowDancer replied

Man this was a sizzling verse, and such a sober strong voice. Your scenery came to life with words, but with how you used them also. One of the better ones I’ve read on here, great!
ShadowDancer replied
Thank you so much, Jim…
Genevieve Robey

lianne
Poignant and hauntingly lovely, Patty Jo. This is filled with such lovely visuals that express such deep longing. And beautiful phrases that just linger in the heart – especially your last stanza. Just incredibly good!
ShadowDancer replied
lianne, you fill my soul to the brim with happiness and appreciation. xxx
Alex Gardiner
A quote from another great poet;”Rabbie Burns”
And fare thee weel, my only luve,
And fare thee weel a while!
And I will come again, my luve,
Tho’ it were ten thousand mile!
I think” your” heart is like a Red Red Rose, creating soft, soft beautiful visuals.
The Auld Yin.
ShadowDancer replied

my absence was not as long as I thought …..lucky for me to be here to find this beautiful verse….Love that is this deep is like a sword, we need to make sure we always have the handle in our grip for the cuts that can ensue if we lose ourselves into the depth of the love….wounding..
The melancholy in this was a real mist …XXX
ShadowDancer replied
