Conclusion
At the end of a love story, why do some choose to keep only the bad memories, or to forget it all completely?
Conclusion belongs to the following groups:
Complex Simplicity of Art, All Out Emotion, Core [C.O.R.E], Creative, Talented, and Unknown, Feminine Intent (LIMIT TWO IMAGES PER DAY), Live, Love, Dream: , Masterpieces: Literary Workshop, Shameless Self-Promotion, The Passion of Couples, THE SISTERHOOD, Two Beings Group, Up & Coming Writers and WMGIt ended as it had begun
with an agonized scream of unfulfilled need
and bitter accusations.
Somewhere in the wasteland that
spans the space
between your Truth
and my Truth
lies a defeated reality
too tired to raise a sword to fight
against the muscled beasts that feast on
the bloody collision of dreams and memory.
But when the tears dry
and the pain eases
and the anger fades away to mist,
I vow that all that will remain in me
of you
is memory of your wicked wit
and playful passion,
and the joy that surged in me because of you.
These memories much too valuable a toy
to throw outside the pram
and forget.
Cassey
Funny how that happens.
ShadowDancer replied
It’s like life, always a beginning and an ending, it’s what you do in between that counts.
Holly Ringland
oh.
oh.
cripes peej.
you’ve hooked and threaded and strung all the pieces of me on these words
ShadowDancer replied
Holly, it’s thrilling to me when you not only enjoy what I’ve written, but you relate like it’s yours. I lived most of my life seeing colors differently than those around me, tasting flavors others can’t taste, knowing emotions others can’t relate, so finding people that can taste what I taste, see what I see, feel what I feel is like discovering what planet I really came from. So thank you, really, thank you for connecting with my words in a way that is so special to me.

ending relationships have us react funnily at times – maybe because they have meant so much to us… hugs Maya
ShadowDancer replied
Thank you Maya, each relationship ends in it’s own way, and there are so many levels of emotions connected to it.. for me, myself, I try, once the pain subsides, to not throw anything away, because I know it’s an experience added to my soul to make me who I am. Hugs back!
Genevieve Robey

“between your Truth
and my Truth”
this flows like treacle, soft, rich and yummy…...it’s lovely to read.
Maybe not a ’ happy subject’ but wonderfully expressed….........sandra :)
ShadowDancer replied
sandra, thank you so much… flow is important, yes, like a journey, we want the journey to be smooth and make sense. i’m so glad this did for you!

Sally Omar
Amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!! xoxoxoxoxo
ShadowDancer replied
Sally, the energy you have to support your family on RB amazes me. You’re like the brightest star in the sky… I always know I can find you. xxxxx
Lisa Jewell
Brilliant
I’ve asked myself this question often. Why can’t we take the fun, the love, the hard times when we found comfort in each others arms? Why does an end have to be bitter?
I so love this, Dear SD xxxxx
ShadowDancer replied
Brilliant again… oh my, my head is starting to grow and I don’t know how to stop it. My mom didn’t give me tons of advice, but one thing she did teach me is that in life experiences, we have two choices, (1) let it defeat you, or (2) use it to make you grow. It’s been the best advice ever… and is the root behind this poem. Hugs!
BiographyofRed8
I think it takes time before you remember the good things, time before the hurt and the shock of suddenly finding something so wonderful, someone so love is not longer that person.. so it takes time before one can open their eyes again and remember all of the reasons why those two people were together in the first place. and ditto to brilliant!
ShadowDancer replied
Yes, yes you are right Red. It takes time to heal, to deal with the swirling in mind and heart when a relationship ends. But in the end we should make something good from it, I truly believe that. You are my third brilliant... I’m tying a rope to my legs so I don’t float away!
Rex Inkpen
love the pram / tantrum analogy. the whole piece though is like velvet to read .. beautiful cadence
ShadowDancer replied
Oooh velvet.. I do love those that appreciate the work behind poems such as cadence, flow, alliteration… those parts that make things roll off the tongue and eyes. Thank you for your wonderful comment, I appreciate it so much!
ArcadiaTempest
No throwin the baby out with the bath water here…...the flow of this was very eloquent. XXXX
ShadowDancer replied

Rebekah Anderson
Wow! This is really powerful, Miss! you write with such passion!
ShadowDancer replied
Rebekah – thank you so much! I once had a friend say “passion is the tequila in life”... :)
butchart
often times.. holding onto the middle keeps the end from coming…. but when it does…... the middle is what we should take with us always…. it was the heart of the matter…... good is essentially good…. it is how we think of it that turns it ugly…...... beautiful words…..............b
ShadowDancer replied
you’re always so insightful butch.. thank you so much xx
poeticgenius
nicely done and even though it ends if it was true love at any point you’ll remeber the times when it was good always
ShadowDancer replied
right on, PG! it’s the best outcome for the situation.

Holy cow I love this.. I have read all the comments and for me I am in all of them.. You put out the truth here.. and it for me I am leaning is NOT about so much time passing as it is in the passing time will you change your thnkiing from the pain and blame to the choice of knowing we all are part of this plot..and why not just chooose the best feeling thoughts about another that indeed looking back has served us so very well..
Brilliant work!
ShadowDancer replied
well said indeed! i love that this poem resonated so strongly… it’s all about choices in the end, is it not? xxxx
Matt Penfold
In the long run, this is the attitude that makes happy people happy, it really is a beautifully crafted poem that says so much. I love it.
