note: this is not selective coloring, it really is the color she was wearing.
monterey, california, woman, reflection, yellow, grey, rain
I am a dreamer, artist, and mother. I dance in the rain, spend too much time reading books, and live for my family. I am a gypsy, poet, musician, and artist. But most of all, I am a butterfly fairy. Come dream with me.
sigh from the title to the image, a truly beautiful capture xx
thank you so much sweet one… you warmed my heart xxxx
Oh wow.. this treatment is so stellar.. I am blown away.. this simple shot ooouuuzzes with story and wonder.. Ms Reflective woman.. hehehe
you know me and my fascination with reflections :D this was when we went into the hotel at monterey, while you were inside taking some photos, i went out and watched her for a while as she strolled down the street, and was so delighted she stopped to look into the hotel. this has pieces of ‘us’ in it… xx
Beautiful work- great eye.
thanks so much rose, i was thrilled to get this shot. :)
thanks so much george! i appreciate all the support that you give this fledgling photographer. :)
Very lovely capture!!
thank you so much!
Is this your best ever? Who knows? But it strikes me as such at first glance. But why rank works of art, each is distinct, though there can be affinities. What I especially like here in this one is the startling realization that the man’s reflection lacks a torso – while nevertheless an umbrella still protects his missing head! This is an eerie-comic image you’ve created, the fetching ambiguity supported and enhanced by your marvelous misty-blur effect.
Ahhh Peter. Your support has always meant the world to me. The way you take the time to really ‘see’ beyond the aesthetic into the depth of the story always captures me. I agree with you about the mystery of the moment in this. I took several shots of her reflection but kept trying to get one where you can see all of her but her face – it wasn’t easy! I was thrilled that it turned out, and thanks so much for noticing all the details. xx
p.s. I see by your note that it’s a woman standing there, not a man. (Do torse-less reflections in plate glass windows have gender, though?)
it was a woman, but she was dressed quite genderless, which made it all the better for me. i love androgyny, mystery, blurs, motions, anything where the mind gets to fill in the blanks, and each mind does it differently.
beautiful Isa, HP Homie, thanks so much for this honor. I’m always thrilled when I find my work on the front of your wonderful groups page. THANK YOU!
wonderful capture…you have such an amazing eye xx
awww.. ingz, from a photographer like that this blew me to the moon.. thank you for that little journey.. xxx
Could’ve sworn this was selective coloring. Love the title and composition, PJ!
