A Lullaby for the insomniac.

Drink down you forgotten,
You worn denizens of light.
The twilight gold approaches
And soon it will be night.

Sleep and you’ll forget,
The waking life and its regret

A haze that eats up consciousness in many
forms and women’s breasts
all intertwined with thoughts of death.
Devouring shape and reason as you slept.

Under white and silver-blue moonbeams,
good night, dreamer of dead dreams

Not a thing can ever last
And in the morning
This too will pass

Over your troubled head
In spider webs
Becoming jagged past

Deeply somber and moody but it has a lullaby feel …. I can imagine this being spoken by someone with an Irish accent me thinks…

God do I miss you. <3 Glad to see you are writing again. I particularly enjoyed the imagery in your opening stanza. xox
