Cwmorthin

Cwmorthin is a beautiful valley near Blaenau Ffestiniog in the Snowdonia National Park.
The valley once had a thriving slate industry, with four mines, houses and barracks for all the workers.
Nobody lives here now, and even the chapel, seen in the photo, has become a ruin.

Excellent b/w landscape. good tonal range, composition and perspective. Consider a slight crop from the bottom to eliminate the blurred grasson the left, that way image is sharp and in DOF from top to bottom. :-)

thanks Eyal, I have shown this photo to a few people, and they seem to be split 50/50 on cropping the bottom, so I have left it in ;-)

I live in Llanfrothen, so I appreciate this image. You’ve made the most of the bleakness and desolation and grey sky. In fact, this is the sort of place that just wouldn’t look as good as on good day. I like the way you’ve used the path and fence as the leading line. Hwyl
