I used to own a business I called Sew Many Crafts, hence the name, sewcrafty. I am now retired and so is my husband. We sold our dream home and moved 70 miles to be closer to our grandchildren whom we get to babysit quite often.

It seems like I’ve taken photos all my life. My father and grandfather were prolific photographers, usually using a 35mm camera and 8mm movie cameras. My brother and sister are both excellent photographers and have been using digital cameras for years. I took a little longer to graduate from a 35mm to digital.

My favorite subjects seem to be flowers, grandkids, my cat, anything I think is odd or unusual; and anything in nature I can get to hold still long enough. I take my camera with me almost every place I go, mainly because, if I don’t, something happens or I see something that I wish I had brought the darned camera with me.

I have 2 programs I have had little time to play with so haven’t learned them very well: Corel Painter Essentials 4 and Corel Paint Shop Pro PhotoX2. If anyone uses these programs and has any tips, I’m open! I got a fantastic deal on both of these and they looked interesting so I got them—now I just need the time to learn to use them :)

I’ve been trying to get more experimental with my 6 year old Nikon CoolPix 5700 and learn all of it’s little settings. I hope to purchase a more up to date digital before long—my problem is deciding what to get.
