  • ISMAIL ALAOUI ... replied

well, i just used a coton to softer the graphite,
    but hey you are right,
but scanner sucks,i don’t know whats with it, it adds a digital lose of information , that has liek you said a water colors effect !or sometimes charcoal; very sad (((

I love this. It’s great how you’ve created a depth of field by having the plane crisp and everything else slightly soft. A technique I’ve never seen in pencil sketches before. It really gives a sense of flight. Well done.

this comment is the best i could get for this little work

  • olechka

If you are talking about the other drawing, then I was referring to outlines and shadows around the nose, and also line around the lips. The nose has shadows on all sides, where is impossible in real life, at least not that extreme. Pay attention to the light source of the drawing, and keep shadows consistent. It looks like she is wearing lip liner (which I hate and never draw even if the person wears it). Try to limit your use of dark lines and use shading instead, where necessary :)

    great drawing.
For acceptance into Works on Paper you need to include your paper details, eg Canson off-white paper 200gsm, or simply Cartridge paper.

  • ISMAIL ALAOUI ... replied

    HAHA
as for many of my drawings i don’t have the paper details, as for this one i bought just 9 paper ,it wasn’t a pavkage, but i asked later,
    so those are EPSON S041068 A3-100f -105g

  • ISMAIL ALAOUI ... replied

you can wear something in your hands to avoid dirt
or at least a a piece of paper, tht avoit to smudge the drawing and to get your hands dirty!
thank you, are the first to give all that time to my modest gallery!!!!!!!
thank you so much lore, you are a great artist, i love your gallery

    Hi Ismail,
I’ve just realised that I read all the comments on this the other day but never added MY comments.
There is not much I can add except you show great promise in the use of pencil, you have got the propeller blur just right, good contrast between plane and background and I hope you get a decent scanner soon. My pencil drawing never copy well whether I use a scanner or camera!!
    Cheers Neil

  • ISMAIL ALAOUI ... replied
