This is the river the Waal near Beuningen in Holland.
There used to be a harbour here in the past…..you see the remains.

Funny how the brain works. Het land tussen Maas en Waal is obviously an expression that is buried, deep down in my memory bank and this brought it to the surface.
I like the solid shapes, including the water and the connection with the past.

This is beautiful. My eye is drawn to the dramatic, whether it be color/contrast, shape, whatever. I look for the unusual in the everyday and this has captured it perfectly. great DOF and use of balance.
