i have to agree the contrasts are wonderful in this, and i think i know why.. the blue of the eyes are startling and the skin is so white, great concept!

Ohhhh, this is so sad – my mum had a blue eyed white cat named Liotard (my middle name hah!) and it was deaf, eventually the ears were cut off due to cancer, I never knew Liotard, but still! BEAUTIFUL portrait. xxx

  • Selkie replied

Aw…sigh. Poor Lio. I lived with one of these lovely kitties, many years ago. It was a gentle intro to my fascination with Deaf culture. I’ve gone on to study ASL (American Sign Language), and one of my dearest fellow photographers is Deaf – a relationship i’d never have had the honor to enjoy had i not had the interest in the culture.

Found anything on green eyes in humans ?? Good piece !! I had a white cat that had blue eyes, and everyone said it should be deaf, but wasn’t…

  • Selkie replied

Haven’t, but it’s amazing, the strange links found relating to deafness and physical characteristics in beasties. When it comes to humans, it’s a lot more complicated. It runs in my family – and i’m classified as HOH myself… maybe blonde-haired, blue eyed girls do have SOME disadvantage after all ;)

Beautiful. Eyes are so interesting. Funny how people seek to change the colors and looks with contacts. Maybe it allows no one to see their true souls.

As for cats…I don’t know. Love em…whatever color eyes…blind, deaf and mute. (My friend had a cat that never purred or meow’d…so was it mute?)

  • Selkie replied

    Mute kitties! Wow.
I knew this guy who wore yellow contacts with the cat-slit pupils. Very odd indeed.
    Thanks, Cass :)
