Gorgeous image & treatment, Selkie, and that wind-swept hair is fabulous :)))
Selkie replied
Thanks :). A long time ago i decided to stop trying to control the Medusa hair thing i’ve got going on, lol. This is back when i dyed it black and straightened it so in all my photos i look like i stuck my finger in an electrical socket…

Thanks a bunch Stephanie!

You’re most welcome. I compiled that grouping of images to suggest for the Homepage and was So jazzed that they got chosen. I wanted people to see your image, especially, as very few images inside The Bubble truly delve into the harsher and more emotive side of reality. Your brace is almost your Nemesis of sorts, and this image shows that in such stark detail. The warm tones of it are almost a direct contract to the feeling of the piece. I adore it. Completely.
Selkie replied
Thank you so much for that! I really am terribly flattered at your words (and totally suck at taking such deep compliments…). It is ultra-cool to see my work with the brace appreciated. It is indeed my nemesis at times. I generally only see its beauty (harsh as it is) when i photograph it. Which just goes to prove that art can transform anything.

*contrast. Haha! Pffft.

Selkie replied
Thanks Liz – likewise :)
BruceMeyer
Great mix of elements. Maybe it’s because I’m not used to your pallette or style of composition, but I like your work here. Captured something emotional and solid, I think.
Selkie replied
Thank you, Bruce.
benthebrown
Stunning, gritty, real and beautiful. You have brought so much together in this image. A wonderful piece of art. This is definitely a favourite!

Wow, look at all these comments! Good for you on the home page!
Doug Greenwald
It may not have been your intent, so I apologize if this causes you any offense…
This is one of the most real images I have seen here. In bringing yourself forward in such a blatant manner you have created an image of incredible power. There is something subtly erotic in the confidence you have in putting this out for all to see. Thank you for sharing with us a piece of you that lets/makes us all feel, regardless of the emotion it brings out of each of us.
Selkie replied
Well i can’t possibly answer all these, lol – but your comment struck me. Thanks very much for the kind words, and for “getting it”, i guess. :)
Mohsen Bayramn...
Congratulations for Home Page feature, Selkie!
very well deserved :)
x- pose Klaus ...
Congrats to your homepage feature!!!! So well deserved for your wonderful work, Selkie!!!
Graham Farquhar
This is beautiful! The pose, the colours, everything. And if I can be a bit direct – the breasts, too. Not overtly sexual, but I still find it to be highly erotic. A great picture.
Hena Tayeb
congrats on making the homepage
Ty Beach
I love the overall tone of this shot!
hotbeetees
One word – HOT. The pic alone is pretty smokin’ but the eroticism comes from the “title” – which is inseparable from the art, and the combination evokes all sorts of narrative potential. I don’t comment much, but felt compelled to do so here.
hotbeetees
Damn! I tried to format the word title bold – the inverted commas were not intended.
Selkie replied
Heh…at least you didn’t type “hAwt” ;). Thanks!
Selkie
Wow.
Thank you so much, everyone – wish i had the patience and attention-span to answer everyone, but suffice it to say i really appreciate all the lovely comments!!!!

anthony dimichele
all your work is powerful… such depth of emotion in your face(s).
This one is my very favorite.
The Brace adds an element that suggest the pain and fragility of the human body…
So fine!
Selkie replied
Thank you so much Anthony – i hate that damn brace sometimes (like right now, lol, as i have to wear it lots lately)...but your comment reminds me why it’s also beautiful.
Kirrill D'Kainn
Powerful … in this idea of character expansion beyond one’s self … !
Kirrill D’Kainn.
Selkie replied
Thank you so much, Kirrill – actually, it’s very MUCH myself. I have to wear the back-brace due to a spinal injury. This may be one of my most honest pieces, ironically :).
Peter Evans
Absolutely stunning work and so is the rest of your gallery :-)
Selkie replied
Thank you so much Peter!
Robert O'Neill
Many of us can identify with you there in terms of back pain. Spent a couple of years of intense pain after breaking my left shoulder blade after being hit by a car.
Selkie replied
Sounds horrific…i do hope it’s better these days.
cammiecakes
This is just awesome…so HIGH FIVE’S ALL THE WAY
