Left over pumpkins make a great source of seeds for the Scrub Jays. I cut one in half about every week for the jays and other larger birds in the area. The little birds have another feeder for their seed, but they go after the pumpkins as well. This was late in the day, just after sunset, and taken from inside the house with the patio door open.

Great timing! Very cute!
Hi Dot, I was really having a problem getting both the timing and focus right, and the focus lost out on this one. Oh well, I’ll get more seeds out and keep on trying:) Sandy

blue plumage looks lovely in front of the orange pumpkin!
you have a nice garden, Sandy! and well done for looking after the birds :)
He was sitting on the edge of the cut pumpkin when I clicked the shutter so I was surprised when I downloaded and viewed the image. Not the best focus but I got a giggle and thought I would share it! Thanks for all of your kind comments, Irina:) Sandy
