While waiting for the fairy to appear, I did a little research and found out that
Fairy Duster and Powderpuff plant are two of the common names for Calliandra. The buds look like an unripe berry, many stamen compose the flower head, and the leaves close up a night. Some species are used to shade coffee and tea plants or for erosion control.
Genus: Calliandra (Greek..kallos=beautiful…..andros=stamens)
Species: Hameamatocephala (Greek…with blood-red head)
