This unusual chapel is located on a bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA. The chapel is made almost entirely of glass, however, what you are looking at is not a glass church, but a tree chapel. Architect Lloyd Wright (son of famed architectural pioneer Frank Lloyd Wright), had been inspired by the majesty of the redwood trees in northern Calif. Along with the influence of his father’s philosophy of “Study nature, love nature, stay close to nature. It will never fail you” Lloyd Wright designed the chapel using local Palos Verdes stone, glass, and coastal redwoods. Lloyd Wright’s design is one of the foremost examples of Organic Architecture.
Since there is only room for about 90 people inside, my 17 year old granddaughter has decided that she would not be able to have her wedding here. She does not even have a boyfriend, but I guess it never hurts to start discovering one’s choices:))))
