Springtime at Wellgate Community Farm :) I spent the morning at the farm again, delighted to see chicks and ducklings and of course also visiting with the lambs I photographed not all too long ago – they’re hungry and chubby and lively and well – frolicking just the way little lambs should :)) …

The farm is experiencing a financial struggle of fairly serious proportions at the moment … The farm is a charity and serves the local community, and so it is funded by government as well as through it’s own fund-raising initiatives and programs that it runs … The programs being run there for youth show an impressive success rate, and so it is with a heavy heart that the decision has been made to (temporarily at the very least) curtail some of the weekend programs etc and staff has also been cut (as well as salary and working hours) …

We are currently brainstorming for fund-raising ideas etc … from coffee mornings to card sales to car-boot sales and of course the regular visits to schools and forever the call for support and sponsorship in whatever manner or form, corporate or individual, large or small …

Here a link to the farm’s website: Wellgate Community Farm

Looks very wise for a baby, absolutely beautiful Tina :)

  • appreciate it Karen :))
apparently on Tuesday the chicks were still yellow and fluffy – when I got there Sunday morning they all already had their first “big” feathers – this little one was as fluffy as I was going to find at this stage … lol :) I’ll have to wait for the next batch of chicks to hatch I guess … ;)
