First & Foremost … these chickens are alive and well – they’d been powdered because of mite & were being brought to a different enclosure. Carrying them upside down is just practical – they don’t flutter and fuss

lovely farm/rural scene
we used to keep chucks
:)) those upside-down chickens have had quite a reaction … hence the anti-mite-powder-description now chuckles

Great image, love the gentle moverment of the girls hair.
yeah … beautiful hair :)
I’ll be printing a set and giving her one as a thank you card and a blank for her mum as a thank you for letting me take the shot :)) … This kid actually vividly remember that I took shots of her (that was in October) ‘cause it came up in conversation at the farm the other day I’m told … funny that ;)

Phew….was worried about those chickens…. A very cute capture indeed, wonderful work!
lol … funny how we all love a good ol’ roast chicken for dinner, yet we all have a severe aversion to the thought of the actual feathered chicken becoming our dinner … … …
When I was talking to the kids – sorry! “Young Farmers” – the other day, they were telling me about the sheep and cows going off to become meat … they didn’t even flinch as they were telling me!! And I was contemplating going vegetatian!! lol …
Thank you for you kind feedback Anthony :)
Would love to get more images of hte kids busy at the farm, but people get really nervous here when you pull out a camera around their kids … so this one was with (almost hesitant) permission from the mum !!

Yes…we have to be very careful these days when you have a camera anywhere near kid. Sad and unfortunate that’s what our society has become! I’ll only point a camera at my family’s kids these days!
Funny thing about chickens….When I was growing up my dad used to keep some chooks in the backyard. Every now and then one would go “missing” and my folks would serve one up! I always somehow knew when it was one of ours and refused to eat it but would have no problems eating one from the store. And they weren’t even pets, in fact one bit me on the backside once and ever since I didn’t really like them, but I would never eat them ; )
Love this!!! and those wellies!..and that hair!!!!
indeed the hair, the wellies … lol ;)
Thank you Jules!
