... it is a meditation … surrendering the Self to the prevalent energy, becoming one with it … the technical & theoretical detail fades into the background as an automatic given – it must be learned, practiced and refined, but in the defining moments it fades from all conscious effort as all energy is channeled into the energy of the present moment – the moment of magic to be transferred to an image captured forever
... like a meditation in that all barriers and boundaries are transcended and the Self ceases to exist … the Self merges with all that is and acts as receiver and channel, an instrument fulfilling a purpose … the purpose of extending the vividness of that short moment and burning it into an image for all the world to see for all time to come
... that is what photography is to me

Living with an attitude of gratitude:
