oil on board 40X60 cms. Just completed! still wet even, so please excuse the shiny bits! This has been a long time coming, cos i stopped to have an operation on my right hand halfway through it..
Very observant people might notice that his left wing is shorter than his right: that’s because he’s a Seaworld pelican i photographed last year, & i think they’ve clipped his wing to stop him flying off. I could have painted it the same length as the right, but why not paint him as he is & let that be part of the tale?
