Cross the wall

Cross the wall

Walking towards the edge of a once flattened world, he realized his species sometimes need another consciousness which feels and sees the imaginary but possible paths living in more dimensions nowadays offers… That expedition sometimes requires to see things differently…

In Einsteins world time is change… Nothing seems to be obvious. Although the boundaries of our imagination also seem to look quite endless I think it still requires more flexibility in looking at things to understand possibilities within change.

You have the eye, mind and spirit of a young Mr. Dali!!!!!

  • Sebastiaan Koenen replied

Thank you Jono! That’s more than a compliment when you see the magnificent work of that man. To be honest I can feel much of his inspiration when reading about his life and personality. Did you visit his museum in Spain when you went there lately? It’s amazing!

(with some irony there might be a link in the idea that Dali is suspected to have suffered some kind of psychological syndrome that my psychiatrist think I might also have… Although I’ve my doubts and giving names to things is a difficult and paradigmatic thing…. It’s called Asperger.. Then again that could be a lot of crap!)..

  • JonoCarrick

i am a huge fan of dali, and went to his museum in london (which was rather disappointing).
you remind me of him a lot.

  • Sebastiaan Koenen replied

Thank you. I feel close to his interpretation and translation of earthly things indeed. Never went to London but I think you would also have loved the really strange atmosphere of the museum in Figueras: http://www.salvador-dali.org/museus/figueres/en_index.html

Thinking of that, I think I will place a more interesting photo of that visit on Redbubble soon.

Think that most humans are conditioned to see life in very narrow parameters. However we feel so much through our senses and applying ignorant minds to what we sense is very disempowering in my opinion. Truly believe that we would be better served by opening our minds to the existence of abundance.

  • Sebastiaan Koenen replied

Thanx Mando! I’ve just visited her homepage cause you made me curious. I didn’t know her, but I can relate to her list thing. It’s certainly high within my own vision to come with new combination’s of ideas and avoid the cliche, although that’s quite difficult of course.. Mostly they just flow out, but maybe that’s a little result of being a strange kind of human being hehe…

    Thanx for your tip!

people who create are closer to the creation and inevitably the creator too. but we have to be careful our wings dont melt like MJ

  • Sebastiaan Koenen replied

That are some deep and true words Mando. MJ’s life, person and actions can be argued about, but it probably is a tragic sequence of unbalances that strangely morphed his soul. Therefore the positive side of this may indeed be to learn from it.

    AMAZING.

  • Sebastiaan Koenen replied

Hehe thanx Cynthia! Well… hmz… maybe it’s like with playing music also… I don’t really think how to ‘handle’ the instrument, but just grab it, try it and if it’s something for me I might see all the instruments (brush, pencil, sax, piano, clay?) as the same thing…

You are expanding faster than you can catch up to YOU.. SO YOU .. feel a huge gap.. what you need to do is follow this advice and not have to know anything.. just find ways to allow yourself the space to BE.. till you start attracting more and more of the vision of your purpose of which you long to know.. More is revealed when you learn to just ‘feel good’.. and you can do that by being conscious of you thinking .. you are where you are.. and now.. you can choose to feel some relief or .. you can choose to continue thinking thoughts that don’t feel good.. REMEMBER.. NOTHING.. is more important than that you feel good.. xoxoxo

  • Sebastiaan Koenen replied

Thanks for this kind and meaningfull comment Linaji. Although it’s something strange to hear on the one hand, I kind of feel what you mean. Unfortunately I’m sometimes a little restricted in being happy by several reasons cause some powers in life aren’t as easy to forget or neglect than others. Besides finding a way to pay your rent, there are the more emotional things of which I sometimes don’t see much sunlight. If feeling good or ‘have felt good’ is in some way restricted by yourself or others, you can truly enjoy things and feel many good moments, but the greater view seems to stay clouded.

  • Coronus

    You are a visionary Sebastiaan.

  • Sebastiaan Koenen replied

Thanx Jonathan. Although I certainly don’t claim to see any ‘real’ or detailed future as a few (sometimes nasty) experiences my father told me he had in his live. Where he, as a down to earth and scientific formed man, saw some things of his dreams and musing come true, I don’t experience those things. I do feel some unknown magic energy when drawing. Although it’s quite near the feeling of creating new music, visual expression might offer more imaginableness (is that a real english word?) to make comparisons or correlations to ‘everyday life’. To be short, I truly don’t always know why I draw things this or that way, ending in strange symbolic meanings.. It might be that strange unconsciousness that’s in reach with something unknown…

  • Coronus

    Coronus

I think you draw your vision from your imagination – as do most visonaries. It are those who have had vision that have shaped history.
    Imaginableness – imagination. lol.
So good to see you and your work once more.

Think that basic human nature conditions us to not think too deeply. Analysis often promoted as a big negative. However to me the balance towards shallow thought is really damaging our species. So important for people to go deep inside their feelings and hearts for true wisdom.

I love how the clear palm and thumb draw my eye to the subtle handlikeness in layers throughout. It seems a clue to follow. I held my own hand before the screen, turning my wrist and fingers to find that there was, with the city spires, a hand with the thumb pointing out along the horizon, and perhaps another in the foreground, though the thumb seems to trail off, leaving me wondering it it was intentional or merely subconscious. Temple domes, ruins, a modern city, antiquity, nature and a cross,... I am distracted from the central figure by the many trails of thought available at the top of the steps he stands on. But when I look closer, he seems perplexed also, and precariously close to falling off the steps as he peers into the globe in his hand. I love art that makes me think… Now I’m off to look through your gallery some more.

  • Sebastiaan Koenen replied

I feel honored by such a beautiful answer Karenee! Within my thoughts about the viewers ‘view’ perhaps the most intense of them all didn’t came by: almost touching the screen and become one with the drawing… Thanx for the nice translation of your thoughts!
