1950's Glam Shot for my 50 big years.
Of course I was born in 1958 but as a baby boomer and a teenager growing up during the 70’s loving that disco era! I loved the old glamour shots of the old movies stars. Not saying that I even come close to that, but for my 50th birthday which is kinda hitting me hard because I feel like I am 30. Take note all you young people, you will feel the same way. I don’t feel old, but I feel young. Growing old is inevitable but acting old is chosen. I pray that you always stay young at heart. It’s much more fun.
Some things I have learned and still striving to learn.
Life isn’t fair, but it’s still good.
When in doubt, just take the next small step.
Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.
Don’t take yourself so seriously. No one else does.
You don’t have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.
Cry with someone. It’s more healing than crying alone.
When it comes to chocolate, resistance is futile.
Make peace with your past so it won’t screw up the present.
It’s OK to let your children see you cry.
Don’t compare your life to others’. You have no idea what their journey is all about.
If a relationship has to be a secret, you shouldn’t be in it.
Everything can change in the blink of an eye. But don’t worry; God never blinks.
Life is too short for long pity parties. Get busy living, or get busy dying.
A writer writes. If you want to be a writer, write.
It’s never too late to have a happy childhood. But the second one is up to you and no one else.
When it comes to going after what you love in life, don’t take no for an answer.
Burn the candles, use the nice sheets, wear the fancy lingerie. Don’t save it for a special occasion. Today is special.
Over prepare, then go with the flow.
Be eccentric now. Don’t wait for old age to wear purple.
No one is in charge of your happiness except you.
Frame every so-called disaster with these words: ‘In five years, will this matter?
Always choose life.
Forgive everyone, everything.
What other people think of you is none of your business.
Time heals almost everything. Give time, time.
However good or bad a situation is, it will change.
Your job won’t take care of you when you are sick. Your family and friends will. Stay in touch.
Believe in miracles.
God loves you because of who God is, not because of anything you did or didn’t do.
Whatever doesn’t kill you really does make you stronger.
Growing old beats the alternative—dying young.
Your children get only one childhood. Make it memorable.
Read the Psalms. They cover every human emotion.
Get outside every day. Miracles are waiting everywhere.
If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else’s, we’d grab ours back.
Don’t audit life. Show up and make the most of it now.
Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.
The best is yet to come.
No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.
Take a deep breath. It calms the mind.
If you don’t ask, you don’t get.
Life isn’t tied with a bow, but it’s still a gift.
Love to all of my redbubble friends.

Jerame, wow, thank you for the compliment and the comment. I have seen your models and wow they are gorgeous. You want to do a photo shoot on women that are 50! Let me get some botox and lose some weight and I might take you up on it. haha. You are way too kind and I thank you for even thinking that I would make a good model. A geriatric model. haha. You are sweet and your photography is awesome.
Susan Zohn in reply to Persimmon’s comment, about 1 month ago
Oh, thank you so much. I loved it so much as well and I do hope I can live by it. It is a great way to live and I do hope to try and do this. At 50 I plan to make some great changes in my life. Like taking belly dancing classes this Thursday with a friend. haha. Thanks again.
JerameS, about 1 month ago
I don’t think age is ever a detraction for a woman who has timeless beauty. Enjoy your beauty FULLY. I’ve always wanted to do a shoot with a fabulously fifty woman so that’s a serious offer.
Susan Zohn in reply to JerameS’s comment, about 1 month ago
Well I thank you and if I am ever in KY I will surely take you up on that. You do great portraits Jerame. Thanks again.

Very lovely Susan! I would say I hope I look that good at fifty but I’d better get to work as I don’t look that good now, haha.
Your quotes are lovely and i especially love this one: Burn the candles, use the nice sheets, wear the fancy lingerie. Don’t save it for a special occasion. Today is special.
Also the advice to read the Psalms as they cover every emotion. I’ve found them to be very comforting!

Peter Evans, 16 days ago
Absolutely agree with you Susan it’s all a state of mind and if anyone tells you to act your age f’k ‘em. It usually is the young that say that. Well they don’t have an ownership on being young and are only jealous or threatened because we “Do It” better. :-)
Susan Zohn in reply to Peter Evans’s comment, 16 days ago
That’s right Peter. Young as you feel. haha. Do it better? I hope so. I feel better now than when I was in my 20’s. Thanks so much.
