This is what a Mother of the Bride is supposed to look like I assume. Uncomfortable, stressed and never look as good as the bride which my daughter looked like an angel. I on the other hand looked like crap. I needed a good stiff drink and some food which I missed which I paid for and some champagne which everyone else got but I missed and I paid for as well. What’s up with that? It was a lovely wedding but I wish I would have had time to enjoy it.

Susan, firstly…. this is an excellent capture… love the eyes and detail.
Secondly, I have done a couple of hundred weddings… and sadly, quite a few where the bride/parents are so stressed out that they don’t get to enjoy what should be a memorable day.

Oh, thank you for your kind words. This will probably be the best photo that comes out of the wedding of me. It is a stressful time and MOB’s get the worst of it I am afraid. I tired to enjoy and did enjoy it but I was also into the details as the MOB. I wish I could have done a photo shoot before the wedding with my daughter but you know how crazy things are. Thank you for your kind words. If you lived closer I would get you to take one of me less stressed. Thanks my friend and lovely to be back.

You may be middle-aged in age, but not in looks…that’s for sure….and…I will always believe that you’re as young as you feel…age really is a state of mind..unless, that is….one sits in a rocking chair everyday dreaming of sugar plums and candy kisses….you gotta go after it, no matter the age…

To me…I think you have the look of a mother who’s dealing with the future of her daughter being elsewhere…I think I would at this point…especially when mom and daughter are so close…daddy’s little girl is going to college in the fall and I’m not the least bit excited about it…except for her…

Oh, then you understand. Besides my daughter getting married, Mom’s little boy is off to college as well, so it’s hard to see them leave isn’t it. We have to be happy for them but it’s hard. Maybe we need to start an empty nester photo group! haha.

Well..my son and daughter live with their mom,,only 30 minutes away, but our relationship has always and will always be very special…hmmm…the empty nester group…lol…not sure I could stand it…

Larry, you are too kind. I know smile but that’s how I felt as the MOB. Tight. I felt like Steve Martin in Father of the Bride but I was Steve Martin…tight. This will most likely be the best shot because at the wedding I was frantic and it was not pretty. Thank you for saying I am beautiful. It makes my day. You are a great friend.
