Apple tree in winter
Thurso Quebec Canada
The kids returned to school on this cloudy and flat day, giving me a chance to roam the fields for something interesting to photograph. After stomping my way through the forest on crusted snow and blowing any chance of spotting some forest creatures, I was out in the open field. I have looked at this tree, which sits o…n an “island” of rock, many times knowing there was a worthy photograph to be had but it never looked just right. Today was the day!
The “island” also has some raspberry plants and other small brush to keep the only tree company. It may be alone, yet it thrives. The harsh winters do not deter it from carrying on with its life. It stands proud through the ugliest of times and is still there the next day. Each year it produces a small wealth of delicious apples which the deer and cows enjoy picking without a thank you, yet it is still there.
Many people could learn from this tree and grow their own strength and will to live a peaceful life no matter what may happen on any given day.
This is the Lonely Tree.
