Duncan of Jordanstone graduate in illustration and printmaking 2000.
After 10 years of painting the Scottish landscape, my recent work becomes more involved with cloudcover and its effect on light and colour through both its translucent and opaque properties. Clouds have the ability to refract and reflect, creating an ever changing perception of light which inspires my use of colour.

It is so beautiful Scott!
Thanks Sharon. Though I’d put one up that wasn’t on a square format.

Fantastic colour range Scott, great distance conveyed in such a small plane
Thanks Josh. Quite a few layers to this one to achieve that range

It is lovely! I am sure it would look fantastic on canvas. I wish RedBubble had the canvas that wraps onto the sides.
Thanks Albert. Doesn’t go into exhibition till Oct but I’m hoping it’ll have a red dot then!

Another stunner, Scott. I like the fact that the canvas isn’t square for a change and, as always, your use of colour and mark-making is excellent.
Thanks Martin

Just struck me, Scott – at the rate that you produce these oil paintings you must have problems waiting for them all to dry before you can sell them! At least with acrylics I can stack mine up after 24 hours…
Keep up the great work!
Yes, it is a problem oil painters must get over, and it means having a lot of work “queued up” in the studio before final glaze and framing. I use various paint additives to help the drying a little.
I used to (and still sometimes) paint in acrylic. I was producing about 250+ paintings a year on unframed canvas! Much prefer the oils though, producing less than 100/year.

Superb again Scott. I like the format of this one and the range of colours. The orange is wonderful against the deep blue. Stunning
