This work is achingly beautiful- the red clouds against the green hills intensifies both colors till they nearly vibrate!
The old pilings leading the eye from the wet sand foreground, past the rock, out into the water do a magnificent job of taking the viewer into the painting so that the light reflecting off the wet sand almost makes the viewer blink with the brightness. My feet feel cold walking out on the wet sand, too, but I’m drawn to put my hands in the water, maybe remove my shoes and socks, even because I love to bathe my feet even ice cold seas. I know I’m crazy because I have about 6 layers of clothing on just to keep warm, but I run to the water, squat down and put my hand in it…
