As I tend to be more of a Photo Manipulator, I has a great time painting my face, then renewed my relationship with the pen tool and went over all of my facial embellishments in CS5 to give them greater depth and the kind of look my mind had envisioned. It’s usually a look that’s somewhat removed from reality.
I can’t even begin to tell you how much fun this has been! Firstly the face painting. Such a hoot! My boys thought I was the coolest Mum on the planet! The makeup and the cape instantly makes you feel like you really are someone else…. even just for a little while. A little bit of fantasy is always a good thing isn’t it? It’s stirs our creativity :)
Then of course as I mentioned, there was my chance to revisit my relationship with the pen tool. This may seem odd to some, but it took me a very long time to master this tool, and it’s a really beautiful, precise way to make selections. That aside, I happen to enjoy the moments of quiet solitude sitting with my work at around 400% just concentrating on the job at hand. I love the chance to focus…..
Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, this was the first creative challenge that Team Community have set ourselves since we all came together as a team of 4 a few months ago. It’s such a joy to spend my working days with these amazing ladies in our shared quest to bring you the awesomest community on the web!
(Yes, “awesomest” is now a word. I’ve decided it, and thus it shall be.)
And as an example of how much work I did to “Burtonize” myself as Jen put it, here’s my original face paint.
