I love to watch the farming seasons end & move into their next stage. These round bales have started appearing all over the place in the last few months.
Today a Farmer almost ran me off the road as he was moving a load of them into storage with his ancient old truck….. I really wish I’d caught a shot of that.

Gosh, he must have been totally focused on his load. Luckily you’re ok. I’ve seen s dew of these bales around also. So good to photograph. Great treatment Rosemary.

  • Thanks Lorraine. He was well aware of me, I’m sure of that, but his attitude seemed to be that the narrow country road belonged solely to him! Oh well ;-)

This is such a great piece mate, the bird tops it off. Good thing you didn’t get hit there!! Amazing the dangers we put ourselves through, unknowingly, to get the shot :)

  • hehehe – & I wasn’t even out on a photo hunt. I just know that road that I was using has lots of great rural photo ops, so I always try to make sure I have my camera.
I’ve yet to capture the Galahs that always hang out on the fence posts though….. one day.

Love the rows of trees in the background….and the bales of course!! Beautifult texture work too, Rosemary. Glad you didn’t get hit! :)

  • Thanks Wendy! I’m really happy with those trees. When viewed at 25% or more they look like they were painted with watercolour, thanks to all those textures :)

A great capture Rosemary. When I see this I know it is Summer in the country. Is a shame most farmers lost there crops to the rain and flooding here in the central west of NSW. A great capture Rosemary.

  • Thanks Adrian. The flooding has been so terrible & worsening around Wagga Wagga I see. How are you at Cowra? I hope you’re keeping safe.

fabulous comp Rosemary – loving the painterly feel with the processing – wonderful work – how cool is the bird !!!! xx

  • Thanks Deb! Wasn’t that a wonderful Magpie? As I pulled off the road to take my shot I startled him out of the field & he flew straight over & landed on the bale – then just looked at me. It couldn’t have been more perfect :))
