Funnily enough I don’t consider myself to be a photographer – that’s for the talented folks who actually know what their camera’s do.
My illustrations & designs are over here :Redrockit
That is a very cool image Rosemary!
Thanks Leon, glad you like it :))
Well that certainly told HIM!!! Wonderful image..i also love the texture you add to your other work.. it makes your work stand out and i always recognise a Rosemary Scott just by the thumbnail. So there! Well done you ;)
LOL, luckily, we have a great relationship & I took his challenge for what it was. It’s hard not to reach for the textures though…. I’m pleased you recognise my textured work. That’s actually quite a bizarre feeling, but Thankyou, you’ve made me feel great :D
It is always a growth experience to get out of our comfort zone. I know because I tend to do the same thing over and over, especially if I like the look. Is your husband a photographer? If not, just roll your eyes and do what you want! This photo has a great feel to it — like there is some really interesting story to it that maybe even you do not know about.
Glad you like it Diane :)No, he’s not a photographer, but he’s extremely supportive of my art, so if he wants to Challenge me every now it’ll be good me. it’s all in good fun :))
LOVE IT xx :)
Thanks Deb, I’m WAY out of my comfort zone here!!
Well you certianly showed him didn’t you Rosemary!!! Fantastic image – love the antique feel… I must admit – textures are addictive and I rarely post anything that hasn’t been texture-fied in some way! :o)
Thanks Karen, yes Textures are totally addictive! Truth be told I probably wouldn’t have used texture on this macro type of shot anyway so I took advantage of my plans to give the reversed lens a go, & did it when Robert threw the Challenge at me.Sneaky I know, but i would have really struggled with not texturing a wider shot.
I hope Robert likes to eat his own words for brekkie haha! I often accuse myself of not being able to take a photo without texture or ttv.. you created something really great and unique here mate. This is a great shot and technique I haven’t attempted yet, but am really inspired to try now! Classic charm all through this one, great work!
Hehehe, indeed! I’m glad you like this one anyway Andrew. The reversed lens is alot of fun if you like trying new things. Just take the lens off turn it around & go for it! Watch out for dirt of course… I’m very new to it, but Lorraine’s been doing it for a while & has some beautiful work. She inspired me to give it a go. Have fun with it :))
I literally just turned the lens around and had a peek through.. wow! Who would have thought haha.. Cannot wait to give this one a go! :)
Fantastic!! You’ll have a lot of fun. I love the crazy irregular DOF that I get with it. I don’t think I’d be able to get that out of a normal macro lens. enjoy :))
Woo hoo…great work Rosemary. Absolutely love it. I’m so thrilled to see you over at the RL Group.
Now as for the challenge Robert has given to you…hmmmm….haha…you can do it. Seeing through the lens without seeing a texture is indeed a challenge. I’ve put myself on that challenge also. THANKS ROBERT!!! LOL
Thanks Lorraine, glad to finally be giving it a go. I had a lot of fun with it. As for Robert…..don’t Thank him too much, he’ll start taking credit for all our great shots :))
An image without textures! That’s a new one on me :) Excellent shot Rosemary!
hehehe, odd concept huh! Thanks John :))
Beautiful work Rosemary. Nice treatment too. And I know what you mean about Husbands. LOL I’m one… Don.
Oh that’s funny Don…… do you frustrate yourself often?Glad you like the image :))
