I"m learning the TTV technique …..

My Kodak Duaflex II arrived in the mail today. It smells of Napthalene & has lots of grime & dirt in all the right places……
Oh what a sweet thing!

I’ve now got to learn how to do TTV shots with some degree of decorum…. I’m so unco!
I still haven’t made a doo-hickie for shutting out the light…..I’ll get to that.

My little wooden friends were kind enough to share a moment with me, so I could give the Duaflex a run. This is their first couples portrait….. hope they like it.

woohoooooo!!!! Two of my favourite things in one! Most excellent Rosemary, well worth the wait!

  • It’s been ages since I shot my little wooden friends….. it seemed fitting to use them for my first TTV shot – they were the only thing in the room that would sit still long enough for me to work out how to steer the cameras :))

It’s a bit tricky isn’t it? My Anscoflex arrived yesterday so I am going to build a contraption for it tonight and hopefully get off some shots with it tomorrow. I’m testing out a combination of a cut off wetsuit arm, a chai tea container, some cardboard, gaffer tape and a sock ;)

  • Oh that’s so funny! TTV shooters must look a real sight! I have no idea how I’m going to put mine together… might have to do some research first I think :))

I have no idea what anything is you said in your description….but…..this is a super cool image either way Rosemary! Don’t laugh at me!

  • OH I can’t help it…. I’m laughing!! I’ve just read my description & realize that it probably does sound quite weird….. simply put, I’m trying the TTV technique for the first time.
I’m pleased you like it despite my ramblings :))

Wonderful shot Rosemary. Looks like you’ll be having loads of fun with the Duaflex.

  • Thanks so much John. I’m really having trouble with everything being in reverse…. I’m sure I’ll get used to it…… I hope :))

What a great first TTV Rosemary! I really like this idea, so suited to the look and original too! Funnily enough, my Ansco Reflex arrived in the mail today too, I’m making the dark box contraption as I type this :)

  • WooHoo!! How exciting!
How’s that contraption coming along?…… Finished yet?
Glad you like this one Andrew, I’m looking forward to seeing your shots :))

Literally just finished it now! I made it out of the box it arrived in and a whole lot of duct tape haha. Not sure how entirely effective it will be yet, but worth a shot! This is an exciting week for viewfinders all across the country :)

  • Yay!! You’ll have to show us a shot of the contraption…..
Did you notice Rhana’s comment at the top of the page? She’s working on a doo-dad made out of a wetsuit, a sock & chai tea……
