The joy of Chronic Migraine….. SP

A little about this image for those who might be curious : When I’m in the middle of a migraine crisis my head gets all full of mess. Pain, confusion, disorientation, stuttering, mispelling, slurring, nausea….the list is endless. That’s what all that text in the background is.
That shadowy skull in the background is my skull…. my CT scan actually.

I have no clue as to cause. I’m so pleased you found relief after so long… must have been like finding new life!

Sorry you endure such pain, I have had them, but not on a constant basis..you have captures this so well.

  • Hi Kim, don’t know why I felt the need to share this particular aspect of my life….. getting pretty sick of it I guess…. I’m glad you think the image works, Thanks for that :))

I can sympathise with you completely Rosemary – have been a chronic migraine sufferer since my early teens and it’s been quite debilitating and depressing at times. I’m a firm believer that one of the causes of migraine in women is definitely hormonal, but there are definitely other causes too (e.g. certain types of foods, environments, stress, anxiety). Wonderful shot, although it instantly made me “feel” the pain!!

  • I’m not sure what triggers it with me Karen, but I’m certainly sick of it! Sorry you feel it too.

I can feel the pain! Great image and sympathies – my daughter too is a sufferer.

  • With an image like this there’s always that thought “will people feel the way I want them to?”…..so I’m pleased the message got through, so sorry ’bout your daughter though….

I hope you are okay, Migraines are not not fun at all! This self portrait is bold and amazing!

  • Yes, I’m OK…. I just thought I’d make a portrait of how I feel on the inside a large percent of the time…. you’ve all seen what I look like on the outside….
Making a SP like this is like therapy…. “catharthis” so to speak :))
