Photo Manipulators : July newsletter

It’s August already folks! Here in Australia we’re in what is the coldest month for many of us & starting to see those lovely first buds of spring starting to shoot telling us that the warmth is not too far away. For the rest of you it’s hopefully been a lovely Summer & perhaps you’re starting to see the first leaves of Fall starting to turn…..maybe.
So what’s been happening since our last newsletter?

We Hosts took a bit of a rest in June, so it was pretty quiet on the Challenges front, but we kicked things off again when July came around. We’ve completed 5 challenges this month. Your best from June , Independence Day , Manipulation on Wheels , Photo Manipulated Design T-Shirt & August Avatar .

Our Winning Challenge Images : Congratulations to you all.

Lumix G2 - video embedded (made me laugh.... hard!)

Lumix G2 -“you don’t have to be a great photographer to take great photos”.

I was just sitting watching TV with Robert & the Ad for the Lumix G2 came on…… OMG, I haven’t laughed so hard in a long time! Robert looked straight at me & said “that’s you”, at the same moment I looked at him & said “that’s me”….. (except I’m a Canon girl)

You see, I try, I really do, but more often than not F/stops & shutter speeds just get the better of me.

"Mummy" has a model!

A couple of weeks ago I very excitedly posted a journal about my 4 yr old son Reilly making his first t-shirt sale.…

Today Birgitta has posted a lovely image of herself modelling the T-shirt! She looks stunning too I might add.
The picture is clickable so make sure you go through & tell her how fabulous she is :)

It’s all well & good to say ‘Aww how sweet, Birgitta bought a cute tee", but when we started this whole adventure, Birgitta & I both were of the same thinking that it’s really so important to nurture our kids creativity. If they want to pick up crayons & draw, encourage them to do it. If they want to start slapping paint around, let them at it. If they want to make RedBubble T-shirts, let them do it! What harm will it do?
So far we’ve only made 2 t-shirts, but it’s been so much fun

cafe/gallery exhibit

I’m very pleased to have 5 works hanging in a local cafe/gallery space in my local area.

Big Thanks to Nic & Lyn at the Pink Peppercorn Deli Cafe in Toowoomba who have very kindly agreed to hang some of my work.

It’s perfect really, great art, great coffee, gourmet delights….. they may never get rid of me!
