my Sketchbook Project by Rosemary Scott

Posted on December 01, 2011

I recently signed up for the Sketchbook project and have been impatiently pacing the house, and methodically checking the mailbox every day since, eagerly awaiting the arrival of my Sketchbook. It’s been a harrowing 2 weeks let me assure you.

Not to worry, all is well, I’ve stopped harrassing the postie, because my sketchbook arrived yesterday afternoon!

WOOHOO!

My adorable little book with it’s perfectly clean white pages and raw cardboard cover is now sitting on my desk tempting me to make a start.

Eeek! How do I begin? I’ve been so excited about this, but now that I’m faced with actually putting pens to paper I’m a little overwhelmed.

It’s OK though. I decided to be a part of this project because I’ve let my drawing skills fall away for far too long. I’m always promising myself that I want to make more time for creativity, but there always seems to be something else that takes up my time.
So my plan is to pick up those pencils and pens, dig out the paint and have some creative fun again.

Now…. if I can just make that first page happen.

Check out the Sketchbook Project website if you’d like some more info, heaped with lashings of inspiration!

You can do it! I know you can. Clear you desk and your mind of distracting thoughts an immerse yourself in that white page. Before long it will be filled with a some of your beautiful work which will delight us all. xxx

  • Rosemary Scott:

Oh, white pages can be so intimidating! But you’re right….. a clear head and some focus does help :)
