The Prefect
I love photographing my Father. There’s a lot of character to be captured in someone who’s lived for 70 years.
We all went to a local airshow today, & Dad I were drawn to the classic & vintage cars that were on display.
This one’s a ‘48 Ford Prefect.
Two classics full of character….

Ohhhhh Rosemary – I just LOVE this – Dan & I were just admiring it – so well composed & styled to suit your father’s stature offset from the classic car – love how the texture gives the image more grit – so classic indeed !!
Rosemary Scott replied
Awww, Thankyou both!! It’s funny, most of the time I’m never sure if any of my shots are worthy of processing. But I loved this one the moment I saw him standing there….. it was classic “Dad” if you know what I mean. So glad you liked it!!
LeighN
Lovely shot and great processing! Two classics full of character for sure!
Rosemary Scott replied
Leigh I love your work, so this is such a compliment!! Thanks so much :))
Lorraine Creagh
Love it all. Those braces, the hat, the car…all fantastic.

Christopher Ba...
This is wonderful Rosemary. Without the description, all sorts of stories are possible given his posture and back to the camera. Nice work.
Rosemary Scott replied
Thanks Christopher. I think you’‘re right, this one could tell so many stories, all of them different :))
Ric Alexander
Rosemary, You must take as many photos of him as possible. I have only one of my father. It made a tear roll down my cheek as it always does. I had so much to ask but didnt have the chance.Having one photo as a reminder is not good ! Well done it is a lovely capture.
Rosemary Scott replied
Very true Ric. I’m sorry you didn’t have the chance to spend more time with your Dad. I’ll be sure to take your advice :))
Brenda Dow

The moment I saw this I thought- “Ahh, Steinbeck, The Grapes of Wrath.” Coming so soon after the dust storm we had last week it is quite topical. Wonderful, wonderful image Rosemary.
Rosemary Scott replied
Yes!!! The grapes of Wrath, that’s it exactly! At least, that’s how I see it….. I’m so pleased you do too.
And given that we’re in the midst of a dreadful drought here, & the world has fallen on such tough financial times it certainly seems fitting.
Thanks so much for such a wonderful comment….. you’ve made my day!
Alf Caruana

That’s so nice of you to say! Thankyou so much :))
Andy Mueller
This image is just beyond fantastic. These are the images I never seem to be able to master ….. and you sure have! Have you converted this to B&W? I would bet it would be equally fantastic!
Rosemary Scott replied
Thankyou so much Andy! I haven’t really converted it to B&W. I used a B&W layer to de-saturate it a little & that looked OK, so hopefully if I put some time into the conversion it’d look good. You’ve inspired me to give it a go. Thanks :))
Rosemary Scott replied
Hi Andy, I took your advice & did a B&W conversion. Being that I don’t do monos very often I’m not really sure about it….. Here’s a sneak peek over at the right in the description section….
