    The color combo pulls me right into the picture. I’m not sure why but it feels like I could be so comfortable and peaceful there.

    That’s funny because I had just favorited another picture that had somewhat the same affect on me. I hadn’t necessarily been drawn to this shading before.     Judy Thankyou for your wonderfully insightful comments. I’m pleased the colours appeal to you in this way. This is “my colour scheme”..... I’m always drawn to these & autumn colours….. they’re my personal defaults. So for me they’re very comfortable & peaceful. Perhaps it’s the warmth?
    I’m familiar with that piece by Anne Staub…I find so much of her work comforts me in a “homely, snuggling” kind of way. (hope that makes sense!)

    I do a lot of work with textures in my images and this piece is just superb. Wonderful atmosphere… very Gothic but there’s also an almost Japanese woodcut look to the piece. A definite favorite!
