My good friend Caroline commented that she liked the “icy” tones in this one. Since I read those words I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it. I’ve spent all day thinking that I agree with her…..this image looks cold….

So my thoughts went to one of my favourite novels of all time, “The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe”, and the youngest of the Pevensie Children, Lucy, The first to discover the secret winter-bound land of Narnia.

So, in honour of nagging thoughts & curious little girls, I’m re-titling this image.

    Thanks so much Caroline. Isn’t it funny how everyone perceives things differently. I was thinking the blue was like moonlight….. it never crossed my mind that it might be “icy”..... now the more I look at it I feel cold! Perhaps a title change…..

    Thanks so much for your very kind comment Justine.
    As for editing…. it took quite a bit of fine tuning to get the skin looking smooth & soft, & I always make sure I spend time sharpening & dodging the eyes. I did all the initial work in full colour then adjusted to blue hues as the final step.

    It remains one of my many favourites of your beautiful works Rosemary. I love the reference to the Chronicles of Narnia, the books of which I have owned, read, and reread so many times long before the movie was released. C. S. Lewis was a brilliant novelist and theologian. I have many of his works. Narnia is enchanting, as is this portrait. She is so beautiful.

    Aren’t the books wonderful! I read ‘The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe” over & over as a young child. It’s firmly implanted in my memory as a significant part of my childhood.
    It remains alongside Tolkiens’ works as my very favourite books.
