ink on watercolor paper.
i used to walk through tempe to work every day from casey moore’s to the mouer building at ASU. i sometimes found birds. i would sometimes shoot pictures on my camera phone. i would sometimes make those pictures into drawings…
what do you see in them scott?… the birds…i see in your birds not freedom that associates with the word fly…they look to me as the messengers… from the dark…it may be just me… but that’s what i see and feel.i like the mood here… goes well with where i am.
they do come more from the dark places… messengers from the other side maybe sending warnings or guidance. i have never really pinned it down totally to something exact. i know some people are able to paint birds that are so happy and free while mine tend to lay on the ground or perch on wires…
ahhh… i see they are the messengers… i just went through your gallery again… : )
funny… do you realize that we just posted at the exact same moment? : )
do we need to jsay jinx and count to ten?it is interesting that you called it a messenger without having previosly noticed that about my birds… you are in tune with my sentiments apparently :)
the birds are a strong element, Arianne has birds in her work too (and she is not sure why)I love your red, it’s my favourite colour
You are so gifted.
So bold. And the little subtle spots make me take sharp inhales.
scott, sorry i missed you at modified, i found out too late. i had just been thinking about you in the past couple of weeks as we just moved this painting from the studio to the living room. it makes my day and i’m in the living room more than the studio these day. so happy to see you’re showing your work! i can only hope i gave you a little courage to move forward all those years go. maybe that’s a little narcissistic of me….
I think you do birds extremely well! ;-)
