lucid

ink on watercolor paper

it was something like a dream.
something like a memory.
something missing that leaves a hole.
a place i’d been trying to avoid.
the messenger guides me there one more.
the air is still and cold.
i will carry it with me.
...always

because you are a true artist and go where your soul takes you… which is not too smart thing to do at times… most of the times… depending on how smart your soul is… or wicked it is… you are awesome, scott… you must have a gentle soul as i do :P ... fraternal twins share the same dna? i thought only the identical twins did…

  • scott allison replied

it is true. i tend to wander into the dark spaces…
we both seem to get hung up on the same emotions don’t we? it is a great source of inspiration and provides endless subject matter :)

I once read a book about lucid dreaming and tried to put what I learned into effect.
Still can’t do it to this day, I have no control.
Congrats on another wonderful piece! I feel it.

  • scott allison replied

    thanks leah!
i have never actually been able to control much of my dreams aside of when i sort of wake up during one… mostly, i am victim to whatever direction my subconscious drags me :)

Scott, you have a wonderful way with words. Keep up with that. I agree with everything said.
Simple yet complex. The Crow is perfect…..his dark head lends to the depth of what you’ve expressed. Wonderful job.

Touches that dark spot where the nightmares reside….not a comfortable place for most of us to go….It pulls, it frightens…...it’s deceptively simple….
