time buries spring weather
mixed media on wood. 24” x 36”
i keep a grey bin full of photo copies, pictures cut out from magazines, polaroids, various papers, etc. as i work, i dig through it looking for elements that will fit in, compliment, or otherwise enhance the outcome of the painting…
the leaves fall to the hard soil as winter sets in
there is an echo
hunger and longing drowns
and drowns
the night grows longer
a restless mind does not sleep
a thin blue-grey welcomes the dawn
the weary returns to the cave

hard to keep findng words for these, they are all very good, and well copied…though is that a bit more light showing on that lower right side? or just the paint reflecting?
scott allison
Again thank you! There is a little reflection picked up on some of the texture in that area. Most of my paintings are very shiny and extremely difficult to shoot.

Great feel…
...and it is The Texture Thing again. When one has to photograph mixed media or paper
collage the texture gets lost or reflected wrong or mixed up!
I am sure it is stunning “in person” – as it is wonderful photographed.

did you write the words? There is soul in your work Scott.
scott allison replied
i did write the words. it was meant to relate to the fact that i did this painting during a time in my life when i wasn’t sleeping at night at all. i would just paint all night. heartbreak had lead to a bit of depression which lead to the insomnia…
i have a in sort of time-lapse video i shot while painting this and a couple of other paintings. one day i will put it up on youtube…
