She Stands Alone

On a dark moonlight path, a silhouette appears in the moonlight
Head hung very low, then like a shadow vanishes from sight
Then appearing once more, from out of nowhere in the night
The lonely face of woman, reflecting sadness in the light

She stands alone, remembering days gone by
All the times of joy, and the times she cried
As a tear runs down, down her soft smooth skin
All her thoughts are filled, with him again

Her love has gone, and she’s all alone
In her empty world, made of tears and stone
He said their love, would always last
She trusted him, that’s all in the past

She’s thinking he’s the only thing that holds her life together
And she’s heading for an edge from which she’ll never quite recover
And she’s looking in the darkness and she’s seeing no light
And she’s wondering if she’ll even make it through this night
(oh Lord, help me lord)

She walks along the narrow ledge, she takes her toe and feels the edge
Between her life and death reside, the scattered thoughts of suicide
The waves call out a message clear, come down with us the answer’s clear
She takes a step inside her mind, and feels her muscles move in kind

She’s thinking he’s the only thing that holds her life together
And she’s heading for an edge from which she’ll never quite recover
And she’s looking in the darkness and she’s seeing no light
And she’s wondering if she’ll even make it through this night
(oh Lord, help me lord)

She Stands Alone

Words of hope or despair? – you decide :)

I originally wrote these words some years ago for some music I had composed. It tells the all familiar story of a relationship’s end, and the consequences.

It could be one of my manipulations you are speaking of.
    Such grief over love unobtained.
Put forth from the heart…. over come with pain.
    Well done Gary.

There is always hope…there is always love…there is always faith.
Being in love with someone does not always make you happy but to feel…..oh that is what makes us human…lovely writing.
