Sea Life
Ochre sea stars and giant green anemones cling to a rock during low tide on the beach in Port Orford, Oregon, USA.
These anemones are closed when not submerged, and can be found on rocks and many other surfaces along tide lines from Alaska to Panama. They reach a diameter of 10 inches (10 cm).
The ochre sea stars are common on rocky shores, at or above tideline, from Alaska to Baja. They can be yellow, orange, brown, reddish, or purple.

Wonderful shot Randy, some look like green eyes,

Thanks! Yes, it looks as if the rock has a thousand eyes! And perhaps the anemones better watch out for those sea stars?

What is so cool about this shot is not the sea stars, but the rocks…it almost looks like there are a bunch of eyes looking at you…very cool image. Cheers, S.
