A Confession

A Confession

Forgive me Lord for I did sin
And while I did I had a grin
You see I stole from the Communal Plate
But believe me it was the priests’ own fate

He took me in and showed me care
Then showed me where I would soon grow hair
He taught me how to raise the Law
I thought he was making me a whore

Forgive me lord I sinned again
It was driven from my great pain
The priest did not suicide in grief
I murdered him for my relief

I used the money to buy a toy
You see lord I was still a boy
