Burn Me

Burn Me

How can I not desire
When all around me beauty
All life a burning fire
And desire my only cruelty

All the beauty of the Earth
Parades before my eyes
Every day since my birth
To deny would be more lies

Hold back your desire now
They say, to see what is real
But they forget to tell me how
To forgo beauty and still feel

I would still your beauty find
In your voice if I were blind

Tell me how to rid my thought
Of the seeds that you planted there
Empty my mind of all I am taught
Of the beauty of you, you share

How can I not desire you here
When you tempt me from afar
Will denying you bring you near
When the thought of you out shines a star

If desire will bring me pain and death
Then bring it to me now I pray
For the desire of you draws my breath
To have you here and have you stay

End my passion my eternal desire
Take me and consume me in your fire.
