Don’t Bob Your Head Off

I watched Q and A on Australian TV thursday evenning. Special Minister for Disability Services, Bill Shorten was on. He rose to fame by being interviewed while a Union Representative waiting around while two minners were trapped under ground… not long after he was nominated as a Labor federal politician, and won his safe seat… He is seen quite often as a Head Bobber in the back ground to another Federal Minister or even the State Premier.
He has sent me a note saying he will get a response from a different minister to my questions to him about Disability Discrimination, Health Privacy, and Workers Compensation of ex-government workers who end up disabled. 18 months later I still await those promised responses.

Don’t Bob Your Head Off

Have you lately often noticed
When the media and cameras are around
That the politician being questioned
Has to have a few head bobbers in the background

Doesn’t matter what the question
On the oil well still spewing out
The debate about boat people at the last session
The head bobbers remove all of our doubt

Tell me Minister what is your view
Well first let me again make this point
And the heads start bobbing right on cue
Like some stoner sucking on a joint

Watch out mate you’ll do your neck
End up disabled and a real wreck

The head bobbers are there for support
We’re all in this together a collective view
All looking interested so deep in thought
The head bobbing helps get the message through

You can tell who is the new rising star
The future party leaders so familiar to you
You will soon remember who the head bobbers are
They can even smile while they are head bobbing too

I can see why the Minister needs the head bobbers
Giving such authority to all that the Minister said
Another show time hypnotic device the attention robbers
Looking ever so well new policy and direction read

The head bobber may look a bit sinister
But he is the Special Disability Services Minister.

they should save money and employ some of those little toy dogs with bobbing heads people put on the parcel-shelves of their cars. but it might up the party IQ too much! :)
