Always Remember

The sacrificed soldiers that never return
From all the Worlds’ wars that have raged
Have monuments built where we can mourn
And give thanks for the lives that they have saved

Days are set aside for the Nations to recall
And honour their bravery and sacrifice made
But how many monuments to the Children that fall
Have been built for the price that they have paid

Great monuments and statues stand
Of soldiers armed in their uniform
Can never bring back a Childs’ hand
To any parent that will endlessly mourn

No monument stands to the Children killed in war
The countless dead who never come of age
To celebrate the victories that we all saw
Are never recorded on any of histories page

And now there are even more to count
Killed by the first bombs dropped on Baghdad
Enough innocent to pile into a mount
What ever the cause it is far beyond sad

How can anyone justify the slaughter of a Child
In every war at a politicians cold hand
No wonder people are driven mad and go wild
When they hear the victors band

They say that wars are justifiable
And at times they could be right
Maybe the dead Children would not appear forgettable
And a monument to them would help prevent another fight

Our leaders should be made to look upon
The corpses of the Children piled up high
Until the thought of another war is gone
And build a monument to the Children to the sky

This made me cry- I hope everyone here reads this, maybe it will make the warmongers think a bit. then again, it probably won’t.

  • Thanks Roy. I doubt anything would change some of the warmongers.
