The Blessing of Mary

Mary is every woman
Who finds herself pregnant and alone
Joseph is every father
That gives a child a home
Mary is every single mother
Who accepts the blessed role
Joseph every father
Who makes the family whole
Mary is the blessed one
Who forgives that she was raped
Christ the loving son
Whom Joseph has accepted and helped
Mary is the sacrifice
Of acceptance in her womb
Josephs’ love given twice
For Mary until the tomb
Marys’ love was unconditional
To the life she has given
Josephs’ love against the traditional
Giving anothers’ son love and a living
Marys’ tears in sorrow shed
For the son whose life was taken
As was Josephs’ tears when his son bled
The one he had not forsaken
Marys’ son was of man
As he himself has said
Joseph knew that anyone can
Do all his son had did
Marys’ son was not alone
In being claimed as Gods’ son
Joseph knew in heart and home
That every child is one

Well said, from one former Irish Catholic to another, or so it seems….. Beautiful, Gregory, and very emotionally packed….. ~S

  • Thanks Susan……I was brought up Church of England, prodestant. I am told I am more catholic than the Pope, but I don’t see it. I thought all Christians were Jews by default so sort out a Rabi years ago to quiz. One of the things I asked him was can a Jew be a Buddhist as well. He said it was fine so I became a Jewish Buddhist. Now I am a Callithumpian; how can I deny the existance of anyones God..All being the same

Wise words John. Jesus’ message to me was about equality of all and the reality of anything being possible. These seem to be lessons that have fallen on many deaf ears these days.

  • Thanks Tony, appreciated…I think there are a lot of lessons distorted and the true meaning ( almost ) lost
